I am very happy I hope you are too #1

NT$ 33,000.00

"I am very happy I hope you are too" is an e-textile project relates community collaboration and my own fine art practice, a mixture of traditional craft and conductive threads. In my art practice, I see those crumbled LED texts as an codification of intimacy, it symbols a process of deconstruction, an elimination of feelings, it is no longer what it was but light and frequencies, it provides a new quantized access for us to think how feelings are composed before it is feelings.

In 2013, after the art residency in Oaxaca, Mexico, I was invited by Bandui Lab to attend a community art project which was taking place near Oaxaca. Bandui Lab goes to mountainous areas to make fieldwork of aztec tribal culture and legends, and then coordinate and organize together with the village a work camp which they would invite local residents and workers to participate, counselling them with their existing carpentry or weaving skills to create craft works related to their tribal culture and also craft works possessed of a contemporary design sense, and then they would coach them to set up a physical store and exhibitions to share revenue.

This mask is made of cotton, Embroidered LEDs, lithium batteries, embed PCBs, LED words, conductive threads, and it's not washable.
